’80s Child Stars Launch Unfunny Attack on Free Speech

In what appears to be a desperate bid for another 15 minutes of fame, several child “stars” from such notable forgettable 1980s sitcoms like Mr. Belvedere and Charles in Charge have made a “Funny or Die” video (those easily offended should probably not watch it) about fellow ’80s child star Kirk Cameron of Growing Pains. The video, which is supposed to be humorous, takes aim at Cameron’s controversial views on homosexuality. Cameron reportedly was not offended by the video, even finding it funny. Did Cameron really find the mock video funny or was he exhibiting grace toward those who were intentionally ridiculing him? As a born-again Christian, Cameron may have been applying Biblical principles to the situation: “To the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; … Read entire article »

Rosie, Oprah & Killing Your Audience

How long does it take to kill your audience? If you’re Rosie O’Donnell, the answer to that question is less than six months. The most arrogant smartest woman in television, Oprah Winfrey, has finally pulled the plug on the horrendous “The Rosie Show.”  For those who were not aware (which would be 99.9% of the country) that Ms. Winfrey had her own cable network — the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) — and that the formerly pleasant celebrity, Rosie O’Donnell, had her own talk show on said network, the cancellation of the low-rated broadcast will come as a complete and utter shock. I’m so sorry to ruin your day with this bit of bad news. I can’t say that I’m all that surprised at this turn of events. I was wrong, however, to think that … Read entire article »

Kirk Cameron, Piers Morgan & the Gay Assault on Free Speech

You’ve gotta hand it to Piers Morgan. In a sad, pathetic attempt to get people to think that his CNN show (or CNN for that matter) is relevant, Morgan has become a master at the “drive-by” interview. What is a “drive-by” interview? It’s one designed to inflict maximum damage upon an unsuspecting “guest” by repeatedly asking hostile questions about controversial subjects until a “gotcha moment” happens. Of course, most of Morgan’s “drive-by’s” are perpetrated against conservatives. Christian guests seem to be favorite targets of Morgan’s tactics. It’s funny how one of the main topics that comes up with Christian guests is their views on homosexuality. Even if the interview is supposed to be about a completely unrelated topic, Morgan always seems to find a way to ask conservatives about their views on gay marriage. If you didn’t know any … Read entire article »

Killing Babies Trumps Curing Breast Cancer

UPDATE:  Wow!  Killing babies really does trump curing breast cancer, not just for Hollywood celebrities, but for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Capitulating to the all-out assault from the abortion-loving left in this country, the Komen Foundation reversed course on February 3 and reinstated funding for Planned Parenthood.  I’m sure that Komen will issue prompt refunds to all those who contributed in the last two days, based on their earlier decision to stop the grants to PP.  I hope that all the Hollywood celebrities and the politicians who terrorized Komen until they reversed course are proud of themselves.  Score another victory for the pro-death, pro-abortion lobby in the United States.  They maybe pleased, but the Creator of the Universe certainly can’t be! I must admit that I had not been following … Read entire article »

Garofalo & Suspect Behavior Get the Boot!

On Dragnet, Jack Webb would start his witness interviews with the famous catchphrase, “Just the facts, ma’am.”  Here are the facts about two CBS shows — both police procedurals – one renewed for a second season and the other cancelled after only one short outing as a mid-season replacement: Police Procedural #1:  An updated ”re-make” of a popular 1970′s television drama.  This show, set in an exciting, tropical locale, stars four young actors, with the lead character played by an Australian actor who had several previous CBS series cancelled after short runs. Police Procedural #2:  A spin-off of a popular crime drama (now finishing its 6th season).  This show, set in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, stars six actors, one of whom won an academy award for best actor and one who also stars in the original series that gave … Read entire article »
