You’ve gotta hand it to Piers Morgan. In a sad, pathetic attempt to get people to think that his CNN show (or CNN for that matter) is relevant, Morgan has become a master at the “drive-by”<\/em> interview. What is a “drive-by”<\/em>\u00a0interview? It’s one designed to inflict maximum damage upon an unsuspecting “guest”<\/em> by repeatedly asking hostile questions about\u00a0controversial subjects until a “gotcha moment”<\/em>\u00a0happens. Of course, most of Morgan’s “drive-by’s”<\/em> are perpetrated against conservatives. Christian guests seem to be favorite targets of Morgan’s tactics. It’s funny how one of the main topics that comes up with Christian guests is their views on homosexuality. Even if the interview\u00a0is\u00a0supposed to be about a completely unrelated topic, Morgan always seems to find a way to ask\u00a0conservatives about\u00a0their views on\u00a0gay marriage.\u00a0If you didn’t know any better, you would think that Morgan was an apologist for the radical gay lobby in this country or, at the very least, evinces a rather strong anti-Christian bias.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of\u00a0Morgan’s more infamous “drive-bys”<\/em> occurred when Joel and Victoria Osteen were “guests” <\/a>on his\u00a0show. For full disclosure, I am not a fan of the Osteens. Anyone who can seemingly\u00a0call King Ahab <\/a>— arguably the most wicked Hebrew king recorded in Scripture — a man of faith (he had faith, but it wasn’t in God) is a far cry from what I would classify as a solid, Biblical preacher. Great motivational speaker? Yes. Gospel preacher? Hardly. But, I truly felt a little sorry for Joel and Victoria on that night, because they did not see the bullet coming.<\/p>\n

Apparently, neither did Kirk Cameron. Cameron, who shot to fame playing Mike Seaver in the 1980’s series, Growing Pains<\/em>, and who later starred in the Left Behind<\/em> movies and Fireproof<\/em>,\u00a0is an outspoken Christian. And, when I say Christian, I mean someone who believes that the Bible is God’s Word and that God’s Word does not shift with the changing tides of culture — even on issues dealing with sexual ethics —\u00a0no matter what the likes of Roseanne Barr or Growing Pains<\/em>\u00a0dad Alan Thicke\u00a0have to say about it.<\/a>\u00a0When America starts getting its moral direction from Hollywood, then we are indeed headed into the dustbin of civilization. On second thought, I think we are traveling at breakneck speed in that general direction!<\/p>\n

For you see, what Kirk Cameron proclaimed on Piers Morgan Tonight<\/em> was moral truth. Just what truth was it? Cameron made this shocking claim:<\/p>\n

“So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don’t.”<\/p>\n

And when asked if he thought homosexuality was a sin, Cameron went on to say,\u00a0 “I think that it’s unnatural. I think that it’s detrimental, and ultimately\u00a0 destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And, truth does not change.\u00a0It is a truth that the left, particularly the Hollywood left and the gay left, do not want to hear. But, for all their progressivism and so-called tolerance, the radical left in this country\u00a0is only half a step away from Stalinism at its finest. In a bit of irony that I’m quite sure was lost on E! Online’s Gina Sherpe, she wrote:<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, stars like George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Jane Lynch reacted as one<\/strong> (emphasis added<\/span>) to the former teen idol’s homophobic remarks, condemning his comments<\/a> that homosexuality was “unnatural” and gay marriage “detrimental<\/a>” to society.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“Reacting as one”<\/em> is quite common in Castro’s Cuba or in Chavez’s Venezuela. That’s not surprising since many in\u00a0Hollywood seem to love\u00a0repressive regimes<\/a>.\u00a0No where else in the world would these folks\u00a0have the freedom to produce and create the most offensive and vile excrement that passes for “entertainment”<\/em> today. How do homosexuals fair in these oppressive regimes?<\/p>\n

Because\u00a0of the First Amendment, Hollywood can continue to spew forth\u00a0poison every day, all in the guise of “art.”<\/em> Please! \u00a0Because many of these “celebrities”<\/em> and “actors”<\/em>\u00a0have\u00a0lived so long in the cesspool that is the entertainment industry, they have become so deluded in their thinking that any speech with which they disagree is now automatically labeled as “hate speech.”<\/em>\u00a0This is particularly true with the gay rights lobby. If anyone — especially in Hollywood — dares leave the reservation of totalitarian thought on this issue,\u00a0he is\u00a0branded a bigoted homophobe\u00a0who\u00a0needs to be reeducated\u00a0or silenced. As\u00a0an out-of-the-closet conservative Hollywood producer\/writer recently opined following the death of Andrew Breitbart:<\/p>\n

Toadies in the MSM assert that there is no Blacklist in Hollywood. And they’re right. It’s not necessary because Hollywood is a very, very small, very, very ruthless town, where a few key words spoken in the right ears can absolutely wreck a career–code-words like “difficult,” “high-maintenance” and “uneven.”\u00a0 When you can obliterate a fellow professional with a few well-chosen phrases, why maintain something as crude and inelegant as a Blacklist? (full article here<\/a>, but be warned of graphic language used)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The pro-gay leftists in Hollywood and elsewhere\u00a0are now set on obliterating Kirk Cameron by labeling him a homophobic bigot who spews hate speech (what other kind\u00a0is there?). Herndon Graddick, Senior Director of Programs at GLAAD, said<\/a>,<\/p>\n

“In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV\u00a0 character. Cameron is out of step with a growing majority of Americans \u2026 with an\u00a0 increasing number of states recognizing marriage equality, Americans are seeing\u00a0 that marriage is about committed couples who want to make a lifelong promise to\u00a0 take care of and be responsible for each other and that gay and lesbian couples\u00a0 need equal security and legal protections. That’s not \u2018redefining’\u00a0 anything.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While Kirk Cameron may not have spoken for a\u00a0majority in Hollywood\u00a0(although\u00a0give people a secret ballot and they just might reject Brokeback Mountain<\/em> in favor of Crash<\/em>\u00a0— just sayin’), he speaks for many regular Americans in “fly-over”<\/em>\u00a0country:<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI should be able to express moral views on social issues, especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years \u2014 without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach \u2018tolerance\u2019 that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I\u2019m in the public square.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It just so happens that when the people are allowed to vote on the definition of marriage, a majority of voters in 31 out of 31 states\u00a0have defined marriage as between “one man and one woman.”<\/em><\/a> Sounds like people are speaking the language of Mr. Cameron, not the\u00a0language of the Hollywood establishment. Go figure. Kirk Cameron\u00a0may even speak for a majority of Californians, if the vote on Prop 8 is any indication, much to the consternation and apoplexy evident on the left (see the various\u00a0Prop 8 plays <\/a>if you need further proof of just\u00a0how out-of-touch Hollywood is with mainstream America).<\/p>\n

Mr. Graddick and others like to think that there is a “growing majority of Americans”<\/em> who support same-sex marriage. But, when people are free to speak and vote their consciences, the only thing that will be seen\u00a0growing\u00a0is the pains in the side of leftists,\u00a0as Kirk Cameron and other Americans continue to speak the truth in love and\u00a0refuse to capitulate to the gay assault on free speech!<\/p>\n
